Where Do I Begin?

Wow, this past week has been nothing short of eventful. I just got off the phone with Wells Fargo trying to see if I could reactivate my lost then found card after reporting it lost just a half hour earlier. I bought lunch this afternoon at school and put my debit card in my back pocket and forgot to take it out and put it back in my wallet. During this time of losing it and eating lunch, I went to the restroom twice and sat in class for three hours. Somehow my card made its way up my back pocket and came out as I was leaving the classroom. I didn't notice I lost it until I went to pay for my dinner at Lucas' birthday dinner (which I paid in cash for) and just figured it might be in my backpack. I searched everywhere and nowhere was it found. So, I checked my online statement and there was no activity, luckily, and so I did what anyone would do... cancelled my card. A half hour later I check my campus e-mail and there it is laying in my inbox, an e-mail from my professor of my last class of the day. "Tanya, you left your Visa debit card..." I had mixed feelings of "yippie it was found and no one bad had it!!" and "man! I should have checked this e-mail first!!" All in all, I am glad it was just a simple misplacement and in a way this forces me to not spend a lot of money in the next week. I hope I get my new card in the mail by early next week.

This past weekend was exciting as I took Friday off to go to Palm Springs with Mike. First off, Thursday was kind of like a Friday night in that I could go out and sleep in on Friday. Linda, Mike, Kristy, Marcus and I went to dinner and then had dessert crepes from Crepes de Paris. Delicious!!! This little hole in the wall in downtown Brea was a great find. I will definitely be going back for more hazelnut, strawberry, banana goodness in the near future (well after I get my new debit card). After this yumminess we headed over to Lazy Dog Cafe in Orange for late night happy hour. It is rare to find late night happy hours, which are usually from 9pm to closing time, so we jumped on this opportunity. It was a good time and Sarah joined the festivities after getting off work. It was nice to just relax after a week full with midterms. Well not full but two midterms in my two hardest classes, my psychology classes (I found out that I got A's in both of them later on, yay!!!).

This brings us to Friday... Palm Springs! Mike and I just went out for one night so we wanted it to be a good one. There was no dull moment in this day and it was so much fun. We arrived in Palm Springs around noon and of course Troy and his friend Paul wanted to go get a drink right when we arrive. Palm Springs kind of has a Vegas feel to it in that you can drink at eleven in the morning and no one gives you a weird look. It is a hot vacation spot so everyone is drinking at noon! We went down to the praised cantina and got large margaritas and a plate of nachos to share. My diet definitely suffered in this twenty-four hour period. After getting situated and for Mike and I to get to know Paul a little better (our first time meeting him) we went back to the house and played Mexican Train Dominos! This is best game ever!! I loved it so much that I went out and bought it yesterday at toys'r'us. So much fun! Troy made drinks at home and we were all having a grand ole time.

It was around 5pm and I had always wanted to go to a gay bar and considering I am in practically a gay town (mixed in with the elderly) there was plenty to choose from. We went to this bar/nightclub called Hunter's and it was happy hour so drinks were only $2. I met a bunch of new guys who knew Troy and Paul and it was great to just meet new people and be in a new surrounding. Everyone was way nice, especially this guy named Mike (yeah, it gets confusing, so he will be Mike S.). Mike S. was our designated driver and only drank cokes the whole night. We went to dinner with him after a good amount of time spent at Hunter's getting our dollars worth of two dollar drinks so we went across the street for some pasta and pizza. After dinner Troy basically passed out from exhaustion and drinking a little much. The night was young so Mike and I went out with Paul for a round two of partying. Paul was really sweet and didn't let Mike and I pay for a dime of anything that whole day and so we danced and drank the night away with Paul and a couple more of his friends. I really got introduced to a new lifestyle and loved every second of it. It was so fun to just take a step into this world that is so different. The best part about it is I have a boyfriend who can handle himself in a gay bar and not be 1) grossed out by the male "dancers" 2) not be afraid of guys maybe hitting on him and 3) he just had a good time and took the experience as a positive one. I really do have the best boyfriend because I know a lot of guys out there who would run away if even asked the question about going to a gay bar. Mike simply said "yeah, I'll go." Good times. We left the next morning in the rain and got back to Orange County safely.

The rest of the weekend was more laid back. I went to work for a few hours on Saturday and did homework all night. On Sunday, Mike and I ran errands and then I helped my mom make dinner. Relaxing weekend. Today was a little more stressful because of a long day at school and the whole debit card thing but it is all straighten out now. We ended up not going to the museum of tolerance on Sunday because there was transportation issues but it's all good. So no new good pictures. haha pathetic.

I hope you all have a good rest of the week <3
