Emotionally Stable
Sometimes ignorance is bliss. Wait scratch that... ignorance is ALWAYS bliss. I know who I am and I know what my standards are for my life and that is power. I'm not going to lie, I am extremely knowledgeable. Not just because I get straight A's but my understanding of the world and people is what I cherish about my experiences. I know how to deal with people of all backgrounds. Trauma in a person's life can sometimes lead people to let others cross over what should be boundaries and that is unfortunate. I have many boundaries and maybe it is a bad thing to have because people like me get hurt, uncomfortable and over think things because we KNOW BETTER. I love the way I am and I am happy I can feel emotions and not hide who I am and what I think. Unfortunately, this hurts to feel everything but the flip side is that I feel the strong positive emotions as well. I am truly happy because I don't hide. I let the few people I truly care about (and I am talking three of four people that consist of family and Mike) see my true emotions and let myself shine. I am consistently reevaluating my life and the people in it to make sure I am living my life the best way possible and surrounding myself with people who I can benefit from.
On a side note, I really miss my uncle Troy. School has officially started so the blog may see some neglect but let's hope not. :)

Sad but True
These lyrics hit me because it's true for some people. Not just love but with friendships, family and lovers.
"There's no blame for how our love did slowly fade. And now that it's gone it's like it wasn't there at all."
"Title and Registration" by Death Cab for Cutie
Why does love fade? I am not certain but it sucks when it does.

Hope
Hope comes in all forms but right now I am really hoping I get this Sociology scholarship I am applying for. It would make this next semester much easier to save for. I just finished my essay part and now have to wait for the first day of school to pick up my letter of recommendation from one of my professors. Hope and the waiting game. Both not good feelings. There is rejection or elation at the end of this wait. Let's hope for elation.

Craving a Kiss From the Boyfriend
This song always makes me think of Mike and his pure love and generosity.
The cynics verse is my favorite. Mike and I always strive for optimism but sometimes there are days where everyone is a cynic and you can't help but find yourself feeling the same. Every time "Brand New Colony" comes up via shuffle on my iPod and I actually listen to it I am happy. It brings peace to my heart.
Travel Goals
I know a lot of people set goals for the new year and I usually just want to get in shape again for Summer but this year I want to make travel goals. People around me seem to be going everywhere from Europe to Asia to the East Coast. I have always found other cultures and people fascinating and some day I would like to "travel the world" but for now I want to keep it simple until I have the funds to do so.
Places I want to go in 2010:
1) Washington, D.C.
My cousin lives on the border of D.C. in Virginia and can house me and be my personal tour guide. Why wouldn't I be able to go?!
2) Las Vegas, NV
For those of you who have read my previous posts, this is going to happen in the next couple of weeks! It is supposed to rain that weekend but oh well, my friends and I will have to make the best of it!
3) Santa Barbara Area
I want to go a little north (although not that North in comparison to the state of California) for a romantic getaway with the boyfriend sometime this year and it will only be a few hours to drive there.
4) Seattle
Mike and I have been wanting to go to Seattle since we graduated high school and here we are three and a half years later with no Seattle trip under our belt. It is SO happening this year.
I think I am being realistic with this list and I hope I can go to all these United States locations within the year 2010.

Pet Peeves
I usually go with the flow and don't get seriously irritated too often but when my pet peeves get kicked into gear... oh boy! I have always had a pet peeve for grammar. I am not the best writer nor the best speller but simple mistakes aggravate me so much! For example, the use of there/their/they're. It's really not that hard to use the correct form. Your and you're is another huge one. I understand English is supposedly the hardest language (yet I find that hard to believe when I look at Chinese symbols) but we learn at a very young age which correct word to use.
A few other pet peeves include all talk, no action, double standards, dishing it out but not being able to take it and recently... baby talk. People who use a baby voice because they think it's cute and heart warming but news flash! It makes you sound super retarded and gets on every one's nerves! Khloe Kardashian talks like this when she is discussing her marriage or whatever. It is so annoying and some one in my house does this as well. When these pet peeves creep into my life I usually end up saying something and then people get mad at me for letting it bother me so much. Is it so hard to want to see results when people say they are going to do something? Or think it's ridiculous when people act one way to one person and completely different to another? Or calling someone out when they treat you like crap and say certain things but when you say the similar they get all hurt? I HATE it.
After all this pet peeve talk I need a good night's rest. I'm going to go cuddle up to my cat and hope she doesn't commit one of my pet peeve crimes. Something tells me she won't. Night.

It's On!
A full weekend of Vegas is in the making. Troy's house move in date got pushed back another week so that means I can have the whole weekend dedicated to drinking, gambling, dancing and other crazy stuff in Vegas! I am so stoked even though my pocketbook is dreading every minute we get closer to January 22nd. It should be a whole lot of fun! I can't wait to make everlasting memories with some of my best friends in the city of sin.

Eh, just okay.
Warning: this is a quick rant! I don't know what it is people saw in 500 Days of Summer and I know a lot of people I am friends with absolutely fell in love with this movie but I have one word for it: mediocre. There were some funny parts and okay yes it was Hollywood being real for once because not every love story has a happy ending but why do people love her and him together. They were the worst couple ever! Her and her commitment issues and him with his "I don't have enough balls" issue. Everyone seems to crave the memorable PENIS scene. I guess it takes us to a place where we shouldn't care what people think and just live life but in reality no one will do that.

If you want to see an amazing movie, and maybe you already have, rent Away We Go. This movie was filled with wit, humor, realistic love and an adventure. By far the best movie of 2009. This is the love story I want to see because it has it's ups and downs and it's true and real. No penis yelling but there is some jokingly bitch name calling involved. Sorry, I just had to voice my opinion because I really don't get all the hype on 500 Days of Summer... and the cheesiest part of the movie was when he met "Autumn" at the end. What the hell!?!?!?! So over it.

Best movie! If you love John Krasinski... see it!!

Six Days Down, 359 To Go
It has only been six days into the new year and I can already sense the greatness of it! January is always a good month because 1) No school until the very end 2) The start of new exercise routines and diets 3) It's my uncle's birthday 4) This year it is Matt's 21st birthday and 5) I work full time which means a bigger paycheck. :)
All of these factors combine to make one happy, busy, expensive and joyous month. My yoga schedule has just gotten more intense as I am going three times a week now and still trying to get at least two days of running time in on other days. Cardio is my friend and we have a pretty good relationship. I need to step up the weights though but they are so boring to me.
[Matthew and I]
I am super excited about Matthew turning 21. He is the last of our graduating class to turn 21 so it has been a long but anxious wait. A group of friends are all going to Vegas the weekend after his birthday (which falls on a Tuesday). Unfortunately (but fortunately), my uncle is having his birthday party the same weekend AND he will just be moving into his new green house! I promised him I would help with the unpacking so Vegas will be cut short. That just means less time for me to get in trouble. :)
[The lovely Uncle Troy]
It seems like all of my friendships are falling into place. I am not expecting too much from people and kind of going with the flow. Mike and I have never been better and it makes me happy that we can be the individuals we are and strive on our own but then come together and be a strong couple as well. I truly cherish what we have.
School update: I got my Fall semester grades and............. all A's!! I was so stoked to see the borderline grades turn out to be A grades! A weight is lifted off my shoulders and I am now ready to tackle the next semester. I am applying for a few scholarships this semester so hopefully at least one of those will come through and help me out with my tuition. I am excited about this upcoming semester, beginning January 25, because I am only going Mondays and Wednesdays and also my classes seem interesting. I am taking Psychology: Learning and Memory & Industrial/Organizational Psych. Both sound fascinating and since I work in an office the Industrial Psych should be cool. My Sociology courses will be: Computer Apps (lame requirement), Childhood & Theory. After this next semester I only need one more elective in Soc and that degree will be done and I can focus on all Psychology my last year. I can't believe in a year I will be applying to graduate school. I can not wait!!
Other than the usual, I want to plan some form of trip this summer. I don't want to jinx anything so I am going to keep it on the hush hush for now. I just know no matter what, I am going to be getting on a plane this summer for sure!

A little much?
I was the first kiss for two people on New Years Eve. Am I whore? Not the case. I kissed my boyfriend Mike at midnight and Sarah was talking to some creepy guy and didn't want him to be her first kiss so she puckered up (and I thought she already kissed the dude) so I gave her a quick peck on the lips. This results in me being the first kiss of two lucky people. :)
New Years Eve was one of the best nights of the year. Definitely a great way to start off 2010.
