Off to Branson!

The family is waking up at 5am tomorrow to eventually catch a flight later in the day for Kansas City, MO. From there we will work our way to Branson in cars and be at our destination that late evening. We are all filled with excitement but I am tired and just thinking about tomorrow gets me tired. It will be a fun trip, I know already! I'm off to bed so I will see you in a week!

Music & Lyrics

Isn't it amazing the way music can make us feel? Music and lyrics can take us to a place that no other form of art can. The way passion can fill our heart in one second and lift our minds up in the air through a song. I don't know where I would be without music. Just recently I bought the Miike Snow album and they are one of those artists that takes me to my "happy place." Thank you Miike Snow for your amazing work. You have brought inspiration and passion into my life, the way only you can. Miike Snow will be playing at the Wiltern in October so I am going to try and get tickets for my uncle and I. That would be an amazing night for sure.

Grandma!

{Lovely Grandma}

The day is finally here. My grandma gets into Orange County at 9:05pm tonight with my cousin Aubrey and we will have five days together in California before all six of us (Josh, Kendra, Mike, Aubrey, Gram and I) set flight for Missouri. We have a party, graduation and a large dinner with friends in those five days so it will be a jam packed next few weeks. I can't wait to hug her. It has been a year and a half since the last time we were graced by her presence. :)

Branson, MO

{photo by kristen bach}

In a little over a week my siblings, boyfriend, grandma, cousins, uncle and aunt will all be meeting in the small town of Branson, Missouri at a time share to enjoy each others company for seven amazing days. I hope to see a lot of beautiful landscapes, lakes and scenery even though I know it will be dreadfully hot and humid. I have never been in an unbearable humid climate before and I am actually a little excited to experience it. Why you ask? So in the future I can relate to people when going to Florida or the Midwest in the Summer. This trip is a once in a lifetime opportunity for the cousins and my grandma has got to be "tickled to pieces" to see a good chunk of her grandchildren all in one place. My canon is charging as we speak!

High School Sweethearts

{Lupe, Danny & I at Matador, it was girls night for drinks!}

Happy Anniversary to my good friends Danny and Lupe!! They have been together five years today and it makes me happy to see high school sweethearts so in love! To many more years! :)

Insecurities

I have been thinking a lot about how my friendships are formed and how some of them sadly end and the ones that go on forever and tend to get stronger as time goes on. It seems like a major factor in regards to all of these friendships is security and confidence. Just like with a romantic relationship friendships require time, effort, and the ability to be comfortable with the other person. When one person starts becoming more insecure about their place in this relationship or get jealous (towards me, other friends of mine, my boyfriend, etc.) things always go south. All the friends I have that have been around for a long time (by long I mean five plus years with continuous contact), we have never had these insecurity problems. Insecurity is a huge issue and sadly I don't have the time to put up with it. I know some people can not help themselves when all they can do is think about how someone has it better than they do or a friend who acts consistently negative towards everything! Do these people not realize that no one wants to be around a person who is pessimistic and hesitant? It's not attractive when you compare yourself to every girl that walks by or make fun of people eating sour cream because you think they are fatties or make fun of me for stupid reasons. We all have our days when we are in bad moods but I can't surround myself with people who are like this all the time. I know girls can be bitchy and I have my moments but pull it together and grow up.

On a side note, I love the friends I do have who constantly make an effort to see me, who don't need alcohol as a stipulation to see me, who don't flake on our dates, who allow me to grow as a person because I know they aren't judging my words or ideas, who I am comfortable with, who love that I am happy because they are just as happy, who care about how my family is doing, who make me smile and lastly the friends who I can share educated mature conversations with. I hope you know who are friends and thank you for making my life enjoyable.
