Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all the mommies out there! We celebrated this special day with my mom by cooking breakfast and just spending the day doing absolutely nothing. I woke up at 8:45 (I set my alarm) so that I could get started on this feast Mike and I created for my mom. The actual process started the night before when I let my semi-homemade croissants rise overnight. To my surprise they were not so "mini" anymore! I was happy to see that my money went the distance with these lovely fluffs of dough. I preheated the oven and brushed them with an egg wash and they were off to be baked into a piece of carb heaven.

After getting the croissants ready Mike stumbled out of bed to help me with the rest of the menu items. This breakfast consisted of: bacon, sausage links, french toast, croissants, eggs, quiche bites and mimosas. Not to mention three delectable types of spreadable fruit for the pastries. Peach, boysenberry and strawberry jams that were so yummy I could eat them off a spoon!

{Yum}

Mike and I worked really well together in the kitchen. He was in charge of the meats, which I gladly always turn over to whoever wants to cook it because somehow I always get splattered in the face by bacon grease. Mike made the center cut bacon perfectly crispy and his eggs were cooked to perfection.

I honestly can not describe how good those croissants were with the peach jam... I highly recommend the semi-homemade pastries to everyone. You can get them at Trader Joe's in the freezer section and then you just add your favorite jam and bam! A delicious breakfast. Everything turned out perfect. My sister got my mom a set of earrings and my brother got her a piece of artwork for the home or her office. All in all, a successful Mother's Day.

I even managed to finish the rest of my papers due this week. Totaling 31 pages of papers this weekend, I would say my days were successful as well.

Thank you mom for being so amazing! Thanks for letting your twenty-one year old daughter still live under your roof. I know I can be a pain sometimes but you somehow manage me. Thank you for accepting me for me and letting me bite your nose every once in awhile...
I love you! Happy Mother's Day! :)
