We have all these sayings about how "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" and "there is someone for everyone" but are we just saying these things because we are trying to be nice? Do we just use these quotes to reassure us that ugly people should be with ugly people and pretty people should be with pretty people? I guess this topic sprung out of the corrupted society we live in that programs our brain to think that looks are what matters. Well, they do. Sadly, we judge people on their looks alone and don't take into account a personality, a bad hair day or an unsuspected breakout of acne. Society tells us that what is beautiful is good but it may not always the case.
I guess what I am trying to say is I HATE DOUBLE STANDARDS. Why is it when you see a "hot" guy with an "ugly" chick (hot and ugly in quotations because beauty is in the eye of the beholder -- remember?!?!) it is so disturbing to people!??! But a super "ugly" male can be with a "hot" girl and that's fine. It's not FINE!!! "Ugly" girls need loving too and from "hot" men. My feminism is coming out and it's evil but that's my rant for the day.
